Description
ShooFlyMoonPie
and the Lancaster County Youth Intervention Center (LCYIC)
have partnered to establish ArtSmart, an exciting art
program for the Center’s youth. The ArtSmart intern will
step into an opportunity help create an art program
exclusive to LCYIC and its unique student population.
Intern Job description:
ArtSmart is seeking a highly motivated individual who will
follow the rules and guidelines of the LCYIC, including
passing required background ground checks.
Intern duties will include, but not be limited to:
Providing
creative input into the ArtSmart program design
Contributing to lesson planning through research and visual
aids
Acting as an aide to professional artists and educators in
a challenging classroom setting
Teaching students in a small group setting at the Youth
Intervention Center
Organizing and maintaining inventory of required art
supplies
Designing and hanging displays of Youth Intervention Center
student art
ArtSmart will bring professional Visiting Artists and Art
Educators into the program. The ArtSmart program intern
will be exposed to a variety of artistic experiences while
making a difference in the lives of challenged children.
The ArtSmart intern must be organized, prompt, creative,
and self motivated with a desire to share and connect with
youth in unusual circumstances. Knowledge of art, art
history, art as therapy, and youth development is
preferred, but not required. A valid PA Driver’s License,
proof of automobile insurance and reliable transportation
are required.
